Add by variant

By default a wishlist item is a product. With Add Wishlist by Variant, the item is the variant the shopper had selected when they tapped the heart: Wool overshirt, Moss / M instead of just Wool overshirt.

This matters when variants differ a lot (size, color, material) or when stock and price differ per variant. Back-in-stock and price-drop emails can then speak about the variant the shopper actually wanted.

#Turn it on

1. Open Features and tick Enable on the Add Wishlist by Variant card.
2. Optional: click Customize and tick Enable variant options.

#Enable variant options

This keeps a variant dropdown on each item on the wishlist page. A shopper who saved size M can switch to L right from their wishlist, and the item is saved again under the new variant.

Without it, the item stays the variant that was saved.
