Guest wishlist
Let shoppers save products without an account. Their wishlist follows them into their account when they log in.
Most shoppers who tap a heart aren't logged in. With Guest Wishlist on, they can save anyway, and nothing is lost when they come back later or create an account.
It's on for new stores. Find it in Features → Guest Wishlist.
How it works
- The first time a guest saves something, XB Wishlist gives their browser an anonymous ID and keeps their wishlist on its servers under that ID.
- When they come back in the same browser, their wishlist is still there.
- When they log in or create an account, their guest items move into their customer wishlist automatically. From then on it's available on any device they log in from.
What guests can't do
Some features need to know who the shopper is:
- Emails. Back-in-stock, price-drop and reminder emails go only to signed-in customers, because a guest has no email address on file.
- Multiple wishlists and collaborating need an account.
- Shopify POS looks wishlists up by customer.
Guests appear on the Customers page with a Guest badge.
Turn it off
Untick Enable on the Guest Wishlist card to make the wishlist a members-only feature. A guest who taps a heart then sees a message with a link to log in. If notifications are off, they are taken straight to the login page.
